The babies are now 5 weeks old and are getting cuter every day. Plus they are growing, playing, and trying to find out how to escape from their pen. We are also thinking of some preliminary names to help us keep them apart. I will probably refer to their puppy names in further postings.
The puppies are growing in leaps and bounds. They turned 3 weeks old on Tuesday, the 13th, which means their ears have opened. Now they have all of their senses, and the world is opening up to them. They are interacting with each other, tottering around on wobbly legs, and are wanting to explore their small world. Earlier tonight the dark puppy boy (Puppy #2) even checked out Kerrie’s bowl of dog food. He couldn’t bite any of it, but he sure was interested in it. At first Kerrie was fine with his curiosity, but he over stayed his welcome in short time. We will be doing some changes to the puppy pen so that Kerrie can eat away from the babies. She loves her pups, but they are starting to wear on her.
We will be taking more pictures this weekend and will post them soon.
Please remember that these pups will be available to loving homes after they turn 10 weeks old. Both parents have been tested for DM. Koufax is an unaffected carrier and Kerrie is DM clear. The worst the puppies can be is an unaffected carrier. They will be tested before being placed.
